All people suffer from food cravings. And just what is a yearning? Well a craving is a terrible desire for a particular type of food, typically to please one's palate, not simply to satisfy cravings. You may find your day-to-day or weekly craving is felt for sweet sweets like candy, or chocolate. For others it may be a yearning for fatty potato chips or an extra glass of beer.

But, don't stress. The occasional yearning is not a problem, in fact, sometimes it is actually a positive experience. Later, when you have been good with your eating routines you can indulge your yearnings, satisfying those needs or desires as a benefit for all of your effort. The technique depends on not allowing yourself to become continuously overwhelmed by your yearnings and give up frequently.

What lies at the heart of your cravings? You may think that your bad habits are responsible for this yearning, or that you have extremely little bit will power. Although, these might be partly at fault, this does not inform the whole story. Food yearnings are also biologically based. In order to beat the food yearning we need to understand these underlying factors.

If you are exhausted or feel depressed your body's natural reason for this is low levels of blood sugar level. In response your brain signals that it needs something to raise your blood sugar level levels. This very natural pattern is at the base of your craving for sugar or carbs. In addition, another chain reaction that triggers your cravings includes Serotonin, our bodies' feel-good hormonal agent. When your body has a low level of Serotonin it tries to compensate read more by forcing you to ingest sugar or carbohydrates to raise blood sugar level and Serotonin levels.

But carbs (such as sugar) only launch a short burst of serotonin, quickly fading after being consumed and digested; when Serotonin levels and blood sugar level levels fall back down, the yearning returns.

But, there is another major reason beating your cravings is so tough (and why they appear in the first place)!

Adrenal Tiredness

If you are stressed, not received a restful night sleep, or are simply plain tired for no specific reason you are probably suffering from adrenal tiredness.

Adrenal Fatigue, similar to the procedure outlined above, includes your body sending a signal to the brain for a pick-me-up and that is your yearning for sugar or carbohydrate treats, or may be, coffee throughout the day; in the evening you might search for alcohol or carbs. All of this only makes the problem even worse.

Beating the craving

If you value the basic reasons for the yearning, then beating the food craving can be done. It might take a little time but it can be done. To break food yearnings, the body needs healthy foods, extra dietary supplements at times; this and moderate exercise can help curb yearnings. This procedure may take a while, but you will succeed.
